Event Details
"The mission of From Hiroshima to Hope is to commemorate the victims of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and all victims of war and violence. We educate for peace, non-violent conflict resolution and nuclear disarmament through a public outdoor event on August 6th featuring music, speakers, and a lantern-floating ceremony." - Organizers of Hiroshima to Hope
Join FIUTS in attending this special ceremony to be part of a global movement for peace. Entry is free and all are welcome.
What to bring: Lightweight backpack or bag for water bottle, bus fare (U-Pass, Orca Card, or exact change), and any other items you'll need. Wear comfortable shoes (tennis shoes highly recommended) and weather-appropriate clothing.
FIUTS Covid-19 Advisory & Community Safety Regulations:
In alignment with the University of Washington's existing face covering policy and distancing requirements, FIUTS requires all participants to wear a mask for the duration of the event and maintain six feet of distance with others at all times, regardless of their vaccination status. Participants may only remove masks while actively eating or drinking.
All participants are required to complete an Acknowledgement of Risk (AOR) form prior to attending this event. Instructions will be sent in the confirmation email.
